blow dry hairIt might seem like a lot of work to some people, but it is always easier to maintain beautiful hair than to try to restore damaged hair. In some cases, hair can become so damaged that there is no way to fix it. All that is left is to wait for it to grow out.

Don’t Avoid The Hair Stylist

Some people will skip out on visiting their professional stylist because they want their hair to grow out. While you might want to gain a little length, it is important to get a trim every couple of months to avoid split ends. Split ends start as a small problem but can quickly damage an entire head of hair.

Don’t Shampoo Everyday

When you shampoo everyday, you strip your hair of the natural oils that serve as protection. It can also quickly dry out your hair. Stick to shampooing at least every other day. If your hair can go an extra day without looking greasy, try shampooing every three days.

Don’t Abuse Your Hair

Some people have the bad habit of using hair styling products every single day. By giving your hair a break from all of the chemicals, you are able to give it a little more life. Skip the hair styling products on the weekends and allow your hair to breath a little.

Don’t Use Too Much Conditioner

Many people have been taught the more conditioner the better. However, too much conditioner can actually weigh your hair down, making it appear lifeless. Follow the instructions on the bottle or that your professional hair stylist gives you.

Don’t Over Heat Your Hair

Your professional hair stylist would agree that over heating your hair could cause it to become dry and brittle. This affects the feel of your hair and the strength of it. If you must use heat on your hair, make sure that you are first applying a leave-in conditioner or a product designed to give protection from the heat. By putting in a little effort, you can ensure that your hair will be as healthy as possible.
